Customer Review: tommy walsh bathroom diy
This is a good basic guide (and not American), but not comprehensive to fitting a bathroom, Far too many pages on what bathrooms look like (brochures are free), what tools look like and pictures of Tommy. It covers most subjects but from only one ideal aspect, any complications in your project would leave you with questions, experts invariably leave out the obviouse. And talking of experts this guide tells you to leave the tricky stuff like electrics to the experts! Whether you feel up to it or not that”s not a DIY guide. The world is not perfect and Its a shame you have to learn about tricky fittings and options in the shop and not in the book.

If they’re used regularly, it’s not unusual for iPod batteries to wear out after 18 months or so. Customer Review: simply brilliant
When I was preparing to move to Papua New Guinea for a 2 year placement I quizzed my fellow workers who had been on similar placements to PNG and other countries around the world about essential items of kit to buy. They all said Leatherman, one with the recommendation of “this tool saved my life”so I bought one and can honestly say I used it almost every day of my placement

Customer Review: Beautiful & well worth getting
I’ve just bought a new computer with Vista with a 19″ flat screen and the images on the Complete Garden software looked really beautiful. The CD-ROM runs very fast. No problems installing it as it auto-loads and finding the plant information is easy and realy fun being able to find plants so quickly. I’ve joined their Complete Gardens free garden forum and have posted a few quations and had some really informative replies from greenfingered people. It’s great and well worth having a look.
Customer Review: This is a wiked CD-Rom
Excellent value This is a stunningly good value quality product Much easier and quicker to use than flicking through books. All the plant information is easy to find and well written with useful pruning illustrations and advice for novices. I particularly like the fact that I can make my own plant list and add notes to plants and print them with the images. Easy to navigate even for the complete computer or garden novice. I found it so useful and such fun to play with. Slightly more expensive than most of the other garden software yet if you want practical useful information about UK garden plants and care, then this garden software is definately the one to go for.

Customer Review: great garden guide
I bought this book for my husband who wanted some advice on basic DIY skills in the garden, like fencing and path-laying etc. This book, like others in the series, is well-written, easy to follow and clearly illustrated. It is an absolutely ideal book for anyone starting out in laying out or tidying up the garden. It gives sensible advice and produces professional results without being in the least bit patronising, at the same time it doesn't waste time showing unrealistic projects that the average gardener would be hard pressed to fit into anything smaller than a public gardens. A really good book, essential starter, but still not too basic for more advanced skills.

Customer Review: An excellent reference
This taught me loads of things I had expected to learn on my NVQ course but didn’t - and some of it was new to the tutors as well!! (Backfilling a sluggish system saved me hours of frustration with radiators that wouldn’t fill). This book pulls together a lot of very useful information from various sources, combines it with a practical approach to diagnosis gained from years of experience, and puts it all together in one place in a logical, structured way. It really “does what it says on the tin”, basically covering in some detail: 1) What Central Heating is 2) What can go wrong with it 3) How to diagnose the fault 4) How to repair it Fault finding diagrams are v. useful. This book will be invaluable for DIYer and professional. Okay, if you’ve been in the business for 40 years you probably know all that’s in here (and more), but then you wouldn’t be looking for a book like this, would you? To the rest of us, buy it now and keep it in the van!!
Customer Review: From Zero to Hero
I am not by nature a plumber. I live in a two bedroomed apartment with a gas powered central heating system, which I inherited when I bought the place (my first) four years ago. When it starting playing up I did what most people do, I ignored it. Eventually, I had to either call out a plumber before it stopped working altogether or figure out why the pilot was lit but the place was cold. I used the technique that I learnt in my younger days. A technique that I learnt to use to fix my first two cars . I bought the equivalent of the Haynes manual. Haynes don’t do a Central Heating Manual but these people do and whilst it doesn’t have the oily photograph so that you can see exactly what the part really looks like, it covers the range of systems, rather than one model in an easy to understand way. Took me back to the days when I replaced the piston on my Suzuki TS100 and got a re-bore. When I had finished, it worked. A great book that I will make oily myself in time.
