Rolson Tools 60698 Camping Lamp With Radio
Alternative power has now come of age with this feature packed wind up camping lantern which is very bright and very usable and has the added bonus of never needing to replace the batteries making this a really great product. Winding up using the fold out crank handle for two to three minutes will generate twenty five to thirty minutes of power. This LED lantern also includes a built-in FM scan radio a headphone jack mobile phone charging socket (using the correct adaptor) plus a dual power source that allows you to operate the lantern using an optional 4V AC power adapter.

Customer Review: Beware this CD out dated and now repackaged
I discover that this CD old CD was once called Romany Growing Plants and has now been re-packaged. Read the review in the March issue of Computer Active you'll see it says Romany Growing Plants is also available as Your Garden Encyclopedia from Focus. This program starts to wilt under close scutiny. First of all, the interface feels incredibly dated, and although the cover claims that the program is 'interactive' it can hardly carry this clain by modern standards. Quite what the use is of features such as a 10,000-yeal diary, address book and calculator escapes us, and while some ground is made up in the program's broad coverage of plant types and characteristics, there is a consistant lack of depth to the information. altogether this package falls short for anyone seeking real practical help in the garden, and at no pointdoes it feel like a product that has been designed with the UK gardener in mind.
Customer Review: Does not live up to expectations
This CD does not live up to expectations, I thought from the description that it it had a vast range of plants and information but it turned out to lack many of my garden plants. My overall impression was it is of inferior quality. It was not expensive and so has my two star rating.

Customer Review: Inspirational
My partner and I were inspired to build our own house by the previous version of this book and now we are in this one so I think it’s reasonable to call it inspiring. This is a book with substance and great coffee table pictures as well. A good mix of technical advice and the stories of self builders written by a self builder and very experienced green Architect.

Do It Yourself

Customer Review: Old Boots and grubby underwear
New Boots And Panties was/is a classic new wave album filled with cokney humour and garage band sound (spiced by the advent of punk). It included at least two all time classics Sex & Drugs & Rock N Roll and Sweet Gene Vincent. Do It Yourself has none of N B A P’s redeeming qualities, the content is tired the music stale a true failure on the diificult second album front. It’s only redeeming feature is the wallpaper design of the cover for which the original vinyl release carried differing designs. This allowed you too match your album to your decor a good thing as you were unlikely to play it twice! take a tip from the title and Do It Yourself instead.

Customer Review: Podcasting - hmm yes the style but the content is good
You have to admire the speed at which this book has been written and published but as with anything related to a new technology it is already out of date. There is of course no mention of iTunes or enhanced Podcasts and the moves to commercialize Podcasting that is a topic consuming current Podcast blogs. This said, the publishers do offer an up to date electronic version of the book albeit at a higher price than the paper version. I think many people would rather put up with the lack of current content for the flexibility the paper version offers. The book is written in the modern conversational style of many tech books and to some ears grates a little bit as you would rather the book just gave you the facts and told you what to do. We get a little bit too much of an insight into Mr Cochraines personal life for my liking, again this is an attempt to personalize the book which does not quite come off. This said - there is much to commend the book as it leads you through the history of Podcasting, the process of receiving Podcasts to recording your own Podcast and to the publication and publicizing of your Podcast. On the way your are given some very useful tips and hints that will make your Podcasting better. On the technical side Mr Cochraine admits that he is not a Mac user and this shows at times as he struggles to explain the working of his new Mac Mini. However he must be praised for going out and finding out how to do the work on both major platforms.
Customer Review: It’s first, and it’s good
As a business podcaster myself and a regular listener to Todd’s podcast, Geek News Central, I wondered how Todd’s book on podcasting would address the topic. Well, he’s done an excellent job in discussing a medium that’s too often shrouded in tech-speak in a way that almost anyone would be able to grasp and understand why podcasting has garnered so much attention by so many people in so short a time. In five distinct sections, the book takes you from cradle to grave, so to speak, helping you understand the basic concepts (”What exactly is a podcast and where do I find them?”), how to get started yourself with minimal outlay - buying a good microphone is likely to be your only major expense to start out - and how to actually record, produce and publish your podcast. I think much of the real value from this book comes from Todd’s analyses, explanations and recommendations on things like the software and hardware you might need. For example, he provides clear guidance on how to set up and configure Audacity, one of the popular recording applications (open source and free) used by many podcasters where it’s not too easy to figure it out for yourself. There are sections on copyright, comparisons between some of the popular weblog services where you might publish your podcast, and simple explanations of RSS (the delivery mechanism of podcasts) and how to create an RSS feed for your podcast. And much more in its nearly 300 pages. As the first book of its type on the market, Todd has clearly got an early-mover advantage. Whether first or not, it’s a terrific book and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about this explosive new communication medium, especially if you want to dip your toe into the water.

Customer Review: great guide
This is a book that can be understood even by those who claim to be bad with money!
Customer Review: This book explains the donkey work needed for a good portfol
This is a superb book for the novice investor or someone with a small amount of experience. The author explains where whe collects her research for shares and how she organises the data. Without research one might as well put money on the 3.30 at Ascot for all the results it will produce. I have found the information invaluble for helping me research my investments in a logical manner thus removing some of my panic and increasing my confidence. Bernice Cohen’s book correlates with other well respected investors, such as Jim Slater and so will appeal to people who want to understand the donkey work that is needed for investing.
