Customer Review: Good variety, not run of the mill
Easy to follow recipe instructions, layout easy on the eyes when cooking in a hurry, most soups are a meal in themselves (best way really), no exotic ingredients, and always a yummy taste!! But as a vegetarian, I would have prefered fewer non-veggie ones.
Customer Review: Useful wire-bound format, so it lies flat on your work surface, is an added bonus to this superb book of seasonal recipes.
From a passionate company, whose employees obviously take their job very seriously, a useful selection of recipes where the more well-known, such as a simple `Vegetable Stock’, and `Bouillabaise’ mingle with the more intriguing ‘Christmas Dinner Soup’ or `Love & Hearts’. 122 high quality pages, split over 8 chapters:- Intro Larder Ingredients Simple Stocks Our Philosophy Autumn Recipes Winter Recipes Spring Recipes Summer Recipes completed with a concise index. Opening with the comment:- `To those who believe the world can be put to rights with a simple bowl of soup……….Soup is easy, down-to-earth, one-pot cooking. It’s friendly, too. The aroma draws people into the kitchen as casually as it calls them to the table. They come because soup is different every time: bubbling with winter comfort, ripe with summer growth, mellow with autumnal plenty, bursting with the vibrancy of spring…………’ Simply presented with a cheery bright cover, one is drawn to the charming black and white illustration on page 8, introducing each member of the `New Covent Garden Food Company’, from the guy who `tends to the kitchens’ big soup saucepans`, to the lady who `does a bit of everything and keeps us on our toes` …….to the chap who `does the figures’, and gets the feeling that this is a `homely’ book which stands out from the crowd, purely by taking the making of a largely misunderstood dish - SOUP - so seriously. `Our year - the soup-maker’s year - starts in Autumn. That’s when friends and families retreat to the kitchen, and root vegetables - the soup-cook’s most dependable ingredient - come into season………Autumn also marks the start of our recipe-testing cycle. Some we invent, some arrive by post or email from friends and strangers; some we adapt from foods we’ve seen on our travels; and some are from the army of cooks who rise to the annual challenge of our Student Chef and Create a Soup competitions. This book contains recipes from all those sources. It represents the collective soup-fuelled wisdom of the wider New Covent Garden Food Company community - our chefs, our friends, our relatives, our suppliers, our supporters and our fellow cooks.’ Imagination quickly forgives the fact that the subtle colour opening plate which heads each season, along with the odd black and white drawing is all the `illustration’ that is really required in a book of this type. Following on from `casual’ text (usually dedicated to a member of the staff relevant to the recipe) at the start of each recipe, is a clear ingredients list, cooking time and method. Tastes of the recipes within:- Parsnip, Apple & Chestnut Venison, Apple & Blackberry Beef, Ale & Wild Mushroom Leftover Soup Cullen Skink Duck & Pomegranate Russian Beef Borsch Wood Pigeon & Morel Mushroom Crab & Artichoke Haggis, Neeps & Tatties Broad Bean & Smoked Chicken Roasted Fennel & Somerset Cider Runner Bean & Braise Ham Broth

Customer Review: Great overview
This is a graet book with lots of advice. It would not be good for those who are interested in every type of plant and its latin name. What is great about it is that it come up with lots of ideas for the garden, all of which are written in english, as opposed to many of the latin conundrums. I was bought is as a present and though it was great.
Customer Review: An excellent book for those starting out in gardening.
This book really is a complete gardening guide, with five great authors all providing their own ideas and expertise. It covers everything you would wish from a complete garden guide, starting with design, then moving on to choosing plants, growing fruit, vegetables and herbs, and covering all the techniques you need to learn to get the most from your garden. The final section by Adam Pasco provides month by month advice on exactly what to do and when to do it. There is so much in this one book that it provides an excellent volume for anyone just starting out in gardening.

Customer Review: Interesting and Informative
Stephen Moss has been involved in the writing of a number of books on birds and this particular volume he tries to help the reader to do the correct things in their own gardens, (be the large or small) to help not only the bird population in the garden to increase, but also what to do to attract the different species of birds. The book is illustrated with excellent photographs and coloured artwork. There is a section on the different plants that will encourage the birds to visit the garden and a feeding programme that will attract the entire range of birds that are likely to frequent your garden. The book is written in a down to earth and friendly manner. All in all this book will be of great benefit to gardeners who are happy to share their garden with birds of all species.

Vidal Sassoon Hot Tools Ribbon Curl Hair Styler VS114UK- White
Customer Review: Quite simply…crap.
A great hair curler if you enjoy having your hair ripped out at the root. Doesnt curl your hair worth a damn. Thank god i was able to re-package mine and return it for a refund even though i had used it. Parting with ?30 quid and having my hair pulled out in the same day would just be too much to take. AVOID.
Customer Review: This Really Works
I like this, it works. It gets sooooooooooooo hot and you have to be careful, I have a massive blister on my finger! but it cools down just as quickly as it heats up! It works no matter which way I try to curl, up, down, round or following the instructions, you have to see what works for you depending on the look you want to achieve. I have never had any success curling my hair before using alternative stylers and I have tried a few! Give it a go, its good. ps. I think no matter how many reviews you read, you are not going to get an idea until you have tried it first hand, what works for you may not work for someone else!
