Customer Review: Handy paperback guide
A lot of DIY and home maintenance books these days seem to be more concerned about interior design and how to make interesting features out of MDF, so when I was having problems with my central heating I was determined to find something which provided some more nitty-gritty information. Thankfully The Home DIY Expert fitted the bill. Although a little old-fashioned in layout, it does provide the practical tips you need to do basic house repair tasks. In my case, the diagram of how a domestic heating system works, despite looking like something from a GCSE science textbook, allowed me to get a better understanding of how the various parts link up. And after getting a ?80 plumber’s bill, at least now I’ll remember to bleed my radiators.

Customer Review: not the book for me
I was disappointed with this book. Although it did have basic commmon sense advice like always use a stepladder, turn electricity off at mains etc. I recently bought the b&q diy book it is ideal for home improvement work
