Customer Review: Useful Reference
Don’t expect to buy this book and be able to produce professional quality repairs! It is a useful reference to give you an idea on how to approach jobs, but a perfect finish is usually only going to come from a specialist body repairer.
Customer Review: Valuable guide of ‘to how to do it best’ a positive purchase
This book is very clear and explains in a user friendly way how to repair the bodywork of a car. It is a useful manual for the novice and expert alike for reference and reassurance purposes. I found this a great guide to look at when you’re thinking “am i doing this right?”. It is also more in depth than the standard Haynes books, so the information is thorough and accurate. I would definitely recommend this book ….’better to be safe than sorry’

Customer Review: It is a start
The book contains a lot of interesting ideas. The problem comes when you try to implement them. It is difficult to find the various building materials on the net. There is simply too many hits in google. And there are few if any clues to product names which can be used to search for the items you need. I think he should have been more specific on what materials to use. Many of us will try to order these on the net and can’t inspect the materials in a shop. The author has used some materials which is not mentioned in the book. E.g. on page 50-54 he used Plastazote in real life, not EVA foam. I don’t think it is the same, but they may be interchangeable. however it is A LOT easier to find webshops that sell Plastazote than EVA foam on the net. I find the book vague on thickness for plexiglas. I have problems finding anything sensible with regards to plexiglas sheets and EVA foam. A supporting web site would be appreciated for a book like this. Preferably with a forum where readers can exchange ideas, etc. The German language version of the book has a link page at www.lowbudgetshooting.de/einkaufslinks.html. I used Google Translate to translate the text for me. I know some German, so I could guess what google translated wrong. All in all a good book, but not without flaws. I expect someone to come along and write the book this could have been.

Customer Review: hmm, mine was better
Full of expectations i ordered this book, but when i was reading it, my own design turned out to be better. The author does not tell you how to make a fitting mag or barrel, he tells you to buy some, preferably stengun mags too, wow. But what if i live in a country where ordering these parts is forbidden by law? And then all the extra’s, the buttstock, the sights, the fire selection, hell its a machine gun!, just put on a standard 3v laser unit in a plastic grip and blast some bullets, when you want to hit somehting further then 25m, buy a rifle. OK, it’s a nice book don’t want to be too negative but the design is a little too complicated for an improvised gun. Anyway, i think you should buy it, is gives some nice info’s about troubleshooting for improvised handguns, finishing and other intersting tips and hints.
Customer Review: Interesting book but not simple to build
You would need a small well equipped workshop to build this thing, and there are better books on the subject available, especially when it comes to simplicity. A question?, this book is written by a swiss guy, in Switzerland You can buy and legally own an AK for ?…!, so why build an SMG?
